History of NPHC of CJ
The National Panhellenic Council of Central Jersey (NPHC of CJ) is comprised of chapters that proudly represent each of the Divine 9 (D-9) traditionally Black Greek Letter Organizations (BGLO). Member organizations primarily serve Middlesex, Somerset and Union Counties in Central New Jersey, however some chapters serve as far west as Hunterdon and as far south as Mercer Counties.
Recognizing our unity of purpose, the diversity of talents represented in each organization, as well as the benefits of working together for collective impact, representatives from various local organizations/chapters began meeting in the summer of 2009 to develop its application. NPHC of CJ received notification of charter on March 21, 2010. The chartering chapters were:
Since that time, NPHC of CJ has grown to include chapters representing all Divine 9 organizations from throughout the service area. In 2016-17, NPHC of CJ boasted 17 member organizations. In addition to its charter organizations these include:

Since its inception, NPHC of CJ has developed a cadre of signature programs and activities that serve the community. These include: adopting needy families for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, serving meals for the less fortunate on holidays and throughout the year; providing scholarships to college-bound students; participating in coat and clothing drives; voter engagement and social action, and supporting back to school donation efforts. In addition, with partner organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the City of Plainfield 4th of July Parade. [EXPAND]
Our signature events include an annual scholarship fundraiser bowling party and our annual We Are One Weekend events that feature a communal mixer/social gathering, cookout, and Sunday worship services.
